Michelle’s fitness journey began in her early 30s when she qualified as an aerobics instructor, sparking a lifelong passion for health and wellbeing.
Motivated to deepen her knowledge, Michelle became a mature university student and earned a BSc (Hons) degree in Fitness and Health. During her studies, she developed a strong interest in exercise psychology and the profound benefits physical activity can have on mental health.
Following graduation, Michelle took on a pivotal role at Oxleas NHS within a secure mental health unit. As a physical activities coordinator, she managed the gym and designed exercise programmes for inpatients living with conditions such as paranoid schizophrenia and personality disorders, helping to improve their quality of life through movement.
After leaving the NHS, Michelle transitioned to self-employment as a Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist, focusing primarily on supporting older adults with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease. Her expertise extends to pain science, where she specialises in managing chronic pain conditions including scoliosis, ankylosing spondylitis, fibromyalgia, and arthritis.
Michelle holds a wide range of qualifications including Personal Training, Exercise Referral, Older Adults, Chair-Based Exercise, Level 4 Mental Health, and Sports Massage. Her holistic approach combines exercise, massage, and mental health awareness to provide compassionate, tailored support for her clients.
