Clinical Exercise Physiology

Specialist Exercise Support for Long-Term Health & Rehabilitation

RMR Clinical Exercise Physiology provides specialist exercise and lifestyle support for individuals living with chronic health conditions, recovering from injury or surgery, or requiring clinically focused exercise provision.

This sits alongside our Adaptive Personal Training service, delivered by AHCS-registered Clinical Exercise Physiologists rather than personal trainers — for people who need a more clinically-led level of exercise support.

Our mobile service is delivered within home, community and appropriate exercise environments, with programmes tailored around the individual, their health needs and their long-term goals.

Physiotherapy Session

Our Purpose

We use evidence-based exercise and physical activity to support better health, function and quality of life. Our Clinical Exercise Physiologists combine specialist clinical exercise knowledge with an individualised approach, helping clients manage long-term conditions, improve physical capacity and progress towards greater confidence and independence.

How We Work With You

Exercise for people living with chronic disease, disability or complex health needs requires more than a standard fitness programme. Our service is built around:

  • Individualised health and movement screening

  • Clinically-informed exercise programming

  • Structured progression and monitoring over time

  • Support for wider lifestyle and physical activity goals

  • Direct liaison with the healthcare professionals already involved in your care

Every programme is shaped by your medical history, current abilities, environment and personal goals.

Medical Care Assistance

Our Clinical Exercise Physiologists

Unlike our Adaptive Personal Training service, Clinical Exercise Physiology is delivered by registered healthcare professionals. Every Clinical Exercise Physiologist working with RMR holds:

Postgraduate education in Clinical Exercise Physiology or a related discipline

Accreditation with Clinical Exercise Physiology UK (CEP-UK)

Our client-specific approach to exercise enables us to adapt sessions to be tailor-made for your needs.

Appropriate professional insurance, DBS clearance and safeguarding training

Ongoing professional development, working within defined clinical scope

Some also hold additional accreditation through bodies such as the Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (CASES) or the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
